Over the next few weeks I will be uploading  the history behind music and the geography behind the different genres of music.

Brief History on Music

Did you ever think about where did music originate from? What was the first instrument ever made and played? And did they even have music back in prehistoric times?

Well the main answer is YES they did have music back in prehistoric times.

You have probably known without realizing. You have most likely seen the Egyptian drawings or the carvings in stone from the Celts and you have seen them dancing. Well, they are surely not dancing on the spot to nothing they would of had to of have some sort of music to get themselves into the groove just like we would do today.

It is said that the origins of music have come from natural occurring sounds around mankind which they later adapted to music.

One of the first ever instruments made was a bone flute which dated back as far as 40,000 years ago. Researchers and Archaeologists were studying part of the Swabian caves called Geißenklösterle in southern Germany,  While they were studying the human settlement they came across two bones with holes in them and were later called bone flutes. It is believed they were made of mammoth ivory and bones from birds. Another method used for an instrument would have been from making basic rhythms and sounds with rocks banging against each other.
